I liked what you did with the ending from the standpoint of the story. My only complaint, and I say this as a fan trying to be constructive with criticism, is that this part of the story came off as very rushed. From the beginning of this part to the end A LOT happened, and instead of letting it all develop slowly and naturally like the previous parts did, this one seemed to just gloss over a lot of it.
I feel like Lisa's transformation could have been developed with a lot more detail, along with Jamie's roll as her submissive.
This was wonderful. One must read the story all together to properly appreciate this last piece. There are so, so few authors in this league and it is indeed kind of you to share your marvelous work. This quality is so rare...you are a treat and inspiration, and I hope you never lose your muse. Yet another fan, Michelle (from home)
I just completed re-reading the entire story, Room & Board, including the concluding chapter. In a word, this story is excellent, and in many ways. I’m a bit perplexed by a few of the comments that complained that this last chapter felt rushed. I disagree. However, I do believe that to fully appreciate the flavor and emotional appeal of this story, one must start at the very beginning.
In this story, you manage to bring to life the many points of view involved in a femdom relationship. Not only the perspective of the sissy, the purported star of the story, but the Mistress, the Mistress of the Mistress, the Mistress’ assistant, and the budding Mistress. You demonstrate how most of us, from time to time, and from relationship to relationship, even within a relationship, play many roles - sometimes submissive, sometimes dominant. You reveal the “normality” associated with coming to terms with who you are within a relationship, even if outside traditional norms. Who really knows what goes on behind everyone’s closed doors?
You managed to show how, although much of what happened to Jamie seemed coerced, and his treatment was sometimes harsh, there was always an element of love involved – an element of revealing to him his true nature. Would that we all could be so lucky to have someone help us “find” ourselves. And with your concluding chapter, you left us with a happy ending, and enough of a tease for us to be able to imagine what lies ahead in the future of each character. I don’t expect any story to go on forever. The best leave the reader to fill in the future. And we are free to take it where we wish.
Sara, I just finished your "Room & Board" story. It was fantastic! Well done.
Ive asked my girlfriend to read the story, so that we can incorporate some of the stories themes into our role-playing. She has read your "Change in our Marriage" story, she thought that it was truely wonderful too.
I will have her tell you what she thinks when she it done.
I've read four of your books over the past week and have loved them all, especially Room and Board.
I did not like Julia Irwin at all. I guess I appreciate you putting her in the story. It makes Amanda look so much better.
I guess anyone reading such a story would have their ideas how things would turn out before the find out how it actually does.
When Lisa left her apartment feeling terrible about what she may have done to Jamie, I was sort of expecting that Amanda would have consoled her by having her spend the afternoon, dinner time and some of the evening at her house. Perhaps with a couple of other ladies, as long as one wasn't Julia. It would have been during that time that Lisa would have to come to realize that it was ok because, instead of being dressed as he was, Jamie would have been presented to her in a french maid's uniform and he would serve them all the whole time. Amanda comes to think of Lisa as the daughter she never had and invites Lisa and Jamie to live with her until Lisa is through with her schooling unless Amanda can convince her to stay and be groomed to take over management of Amanda's business interests. Amanda and Lisa both agree that Jamie is in his natural element serving as a maid, allowing Imelda to finally retire. A great scene of domestic bliss could possibly be Lisa and Amanda inviting Richard and Mark over for dinner and an evening, being served by Jamie, fully understanding that the reason Mark is there is because it is one of those times that Lisa is craving the one thing that Jamie can't deliver, but Mark can. Of course, Jamie has to explain to Mark how he would greatly appreciate him doing it any time Lisa wants because Jamie loves his wife Lisa so much and wants her to have whatever she wants.
Well, all that and Imelda getting fed up with Julia because Julia reminds Imelda of the lady who was so cruel as to provoke Dierk's suicide and Imelda pummels Julia to a pulp, forbidding her to ever show up at the Drake home ever again.
Thank you. Sincerely.
ReplyDeleteThat was just lovely.
yes, thanks
ReplyDeleteesp for a happy ending that really worked nicely
is it too much to hope that your character Julia Irwin will reappear in some future story?
it feels like she has so much left to give us, your fans
thanks again
